MISS LOUISA A. HOOPER LOUISA,AGE 25, OF 11 SILK ST. DIED DEC. 4,1974 IN BREWER,ME. SHE WAS BORN DEC. 20, 1948, IN BANGOR, DAUGHTER OF CLEVELAND E.AND PAULINE(CLEWEY) HOOPER. SHE ATTENDED UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, GRADUATED FROM BREWER HIGH SCHOOL IN 1967 AND ATTENDED BEAL BUSINESS COLLEGE IN BANGOR. SHE WAS KNOWN BY HER HIGH SCHOOL CLASSMATES AS BEING QUIET, SHY AND BASHFUL BUT ALWAYS VERY PLEASANT AND ALWAYS SMILING. SHE WAS EMPLOYED IN OFFICE WORK FOR TWO YEARS IN HARTFORD, CONN. AND LATER IN THE OFFICE OF MANHATTAN JEWELERS IN BANGOR,ME. IN 1971 SHE PURCHASED RIP BLACKS SERVICE STATION IN SOUTH BREWER AND CONVERTED IT INTO HER BUSINESS CALLED JOE'S AUTO PARTS.SHE EMPLOYED JOE ALBERT AS HER STORE MANAGER WHO ALSO WAS HER BOYFRIEND AT THAT TIME. LATER ON SHE ENDED THE RELATIONSHIP WITH JOE AND WAS PLANNING TO TERMINATE HIS EMPLOYMENT.SHE SUSPECTED TROUBLE WHILE TERMINATING SO SHE HIRED BODYGUARD,FRANK KEELER, TO GO TO THE STORE WITH HER. WHEN THEY ENTERED THE STORE JOE QUICKLY PUT A .22 REVOLVER TO LOUISA'S HEAD AND ORDERED THE BODY GUARD AND ALL EMPLOYEES TO LEAVE THE BUILDING. JOE THEN TOOK HER TO THE SECOND FLOOR STOREROOM AND SHOT HER IN THE HEAD WHERE SHE DIED BEFORE BREWER POLICE COULD RESPOND TO THE BODYGUARD'S PHONE CALL. SHE IS SURVIVED BY TWO BROTHERS,CLEVELAND H. HOOPER OF BREWER; AND JAMES F. HOOPER OF BANGOR; ONE AUNT MRS. ELEANOR C. SNOW OF BREWER; AND TWO NIECES. SHE'S BURIED IN THE NORTH BREWER CEMETERY.

Louisa ....you were a shy, quiet girl and yet had a smile for all.  It's just amazing the wonderful friends and classmates we've lost.  Hope more of you will take time to remember them here. Even if you were not close friends or maybe didn't know them personally, surely you recognize them and they were "our classmate"....remember them with love. Maybe someone can provide information on their life, family, our loss information. I pray so.

I know that Louisa died in a break-in at  what (I think) was her families garage in South Brewer a short time after graduation.
